This is Panasonic's 2006 Enhanced definition (ED) 42” model. This means you get lower resolution of 852x480, as opposed to 1024x768. Because of the lower pricing of the unit, you get fewer bells and whistles. This unit comes with an integrated NTSC/ATSC/QAM tuners and HDMI input with HDAVI-Control.
The Panasonic TH-42PX60U unit is in a pure silver casing, as opposed to the higher models with a black border surrounding the image. The speakers are hidden nicely on the bottom of the unit.
In my opinion, if you spending money for this unit, you may as well go for the smaller TH37PX60U model that has the better/higher resolution. To experience high definition television to its fullest, the higher resolution TV is the way to go. I personally would have second thoughts about getting the higher model, if I bought this model.
