Panasonic TH-58PZ700U / TH-58Z750U Review
If you want the ultimate size for you entertainment experience, then the Panasonic TH-58PZ2700U is the right size for you. Panasonic has come out with two main models with the 1080P resolution:
1) Panasonic TH-58PZ750U is the flagship model with the split screen picture and 3 HDMI inputs (as opposed to two). The TH-58PZ750U also has the studio reference mode that produces colors that a movie studio or director would use in editing movies.
2) Panasonic TH-58PZ700U which is reviewed here does not have the split screen as the PZ750U model and only has 2 HDMI inputs. The 50PZ2700U will most likely be the preference for most consumers due to its price point.
The Panasonic TH-58PZ700U will be the most popular of the models because of the 1080P resolution and lower price that comes with the flagship TH-58Z750U. The Panasonic plasma TV comes in an anti-reflective coating which reduces the glare off the screen. Basically it means, you see less reflection coming off the than the previous generations before. Remember, the majority of LCD TVs do not have a reflection as opposed to the plasma TV's and has been one of its greatest selling points. In this instance, you must specifically look for the reflection; therefore the Panasonic TH-58PZ700U does a decent job with the anti-reflective coating. The bezel comes in nice black coal look surrounding the screen.
The picture performance is one of the Panasonic TH-58PZ700U's strengths. Even in instances of SD or standard definition, the picture is very decent. The colors come out very naturally with good flesh tones with deeper blacks than most LCD's. Most people buying plasmas are impressed with the performance of the picture quality compared to the LCD. The fast action sequences are very smooth. Especially watching the Panasonic with a 1080P source, you'll see the amazement of performance with the high definition picture. The Panasonic has a built in SD card slot so consumers can look at their photos on their Panasonic TH-58PZ700U. If you were to compare the pictures of the Panasonic TH-58PZ700U and the TH-58PZ750U, you will see more of a 3D image on the 750U, with slightly better sharpness and more vibrant colors.
The major specifications of the Panasonic TH-58PZ700U are:
- 1080P, 1920 x 1080 resolution
- 68.7 Billion equivalent colors for darker parts of picture
- Anti reflective coating
- Built-in SD Card Slot

With a bigger screen size, you need a plasma TV that has a better performance when it comes to picture quality. The Panasonic TH-58PZ700U provides a great choice for a big screen movie-like picture. The price is a little more expensive than others in the market, but the performance justifies the money spent. Now if you have extra money, the TH-58PZ750U takes the TV one step further with even better clarity and colors with a split screen option.
