Pioneer PDP-4270 HD Review

The Pioneer PDP-4270HD is Pioneer's 7th generation 42-inch plasma TV that is being introduced in the summer of 2006. Pioneer has reduced the size of last year's 43 inch model, the Pioneer PDP-4360HD, to 42-inches. I'm not too sure about the reason behind this reduction, but maybe Pioneer has found it more cost efficient to produce a 42-inch model plasma TV, like the Pionner PDP-4270HD.
Pioneer has had the right touch when producing a sharp, attractive looking unit that impresses anyone who sets their eyes on it. The Pioneer 4270HD has the following features:
- 1024 x 768 resolution
- 1080/24hz compatibility for HDMI and Component
- Dual NTSC and ATSC tuner
- TV Guide on screen
- Wide viewing angle of 160 degrees
- 13 Watt stereo amplifier with trubass 2-way stereo speakers
- Dual HDMI inputs
- Detachable speakers.
In my opinion, Pioneer's plasma TVs are the grand pianos of the plasma TV industry. Pioneer produces plasma's with excellent quality picture quality with very deep blacks; thus giving a better and richer picture quality. The screen of the Pioneer PDP-4270HD is surrounded by a piano black finish border, which seems to be a first for plasma TVs. The Pioneer PDP-4270HD has detachable bottom speakers. Overall, the Pioneer PDP-4270HD has a very clean, upscale look. The black table top stand that is included in the package is a nice touch if the consumer decides to place them on top of a cabinet/table.
In comparison with other models in this size, the PDP-4270HD is more expensive, but you pay for what you buy. With this Pionner plasma TV, you are paying a premium to get a high quality unit. Compared to last year's model, there is no separate media receiver, as everything is intergraded in this plasma unit. This is great unit, if you want the best of the best. Pioneer does not disappoint.
Note: Pioneer also has a model, the Pioneer PDP-4271HD which is the same as the Pioneer PDP-4270, but comes with two remotes.
