Top 10 50-inch and over Plasma TVs
If you want great picture size and you want thinness, then Plasma TVs are the way to go. Compared to LCD TVs of around the same size, Plasmas are the much cheaper way to go. The size of the TV's do initially impress the viewer but you need to focus on the overall quality of the unit and not the size.
Here is our list of the top 10 Plasma TV's that are larger than 50 inches:
- Pioneer Kuro PDP-6010FD - This plasma is 60-inches of bliss. With a 1080P resolution, the Pioneer Kuro PDP-6010FD produces smooth motion film like images. Even with the high price, it is a flat screen that is well sought after.
- Samsung FP-T5084 - High resolution, high contrast ratio (15,000:1) and anti-glare for a decent price, This Samsung is loaded with bells and whistles. Can you say 3 HDMI inputs?
- Hitachi P50S601 - Quietly, an alternative plasma company comes in the fray to produce a good 1080P model with a simple piano black bezel. The video processor provides one the smoother motion pictures out there
- Panasonic TH-50PX77U - Well budgeted plasma with anti-glare technology. The reason it is not higher in the list is that it is only 720P, but it still isa great looking set.
- Pioneer PDP 5080HD - Pioneer is a mainstay in providing excellent picture quality. The bezel has a stylish black piano finish. Pioneer was one of the first companies to present their bezels in the black finish. A little more expensive than others, but you pay for what you get.
- Samsung HP-T5884 - The bigger the better. A very attractive black bezel that blends in nicely with any large TV room. Great for HD football!
- Panasonic TH-58PX60U - A huge 58-inch plasma TV that provides a picture but puts a dent in your pocket book. I wish they could have made an option of a black cabinet. As usual, this Panasonic plasma TV provides deep blacks and excellent sharpness.
- LG 50PC3D - A very attractive 50-inch model for a reasonable price. LG is trying to take some market share, and I think it will. The picture does not compare to the Panasonics or Pioneers, but it is decent.
- LG 60PC1D – LG has put out a very nice 60 inch plasma for a decent price. I think the big push in this LG model is the 2 year warranty compared to the normal one year.
- Phillips 50PF9631D/37 - This 50-inch Phillips plasma does not have the picture quality of the others, but it will be up to your eyes to decide. Phillips does have the option of the black or silver bezel cabinet.
