Samsung HPR4252 Review
Samsung HPR4252 is a 42 inch plasma TV that produces a resolution of 1024 x 768. This Samsung plasma TV has a cable card slot, so you can view the HD broadcast without a bulky set top box. Though it is nice to not have a bulky set top box, many cable service providers do not produce the special card needed for it to work; therefore you may be paying for a feature that you don't need.
The picture is surrounded by a black border with 4 speakers located on the bottom on the screen. The picture quality is decent, but pales in comparison to the Panasonic TH-42PX50U and Pioneer PDP-4360 HD models. It has picture in picture and has one HDMI connection.
Recommendation
The Samsung in comparison with the Pioneer or Panasonic does not produce that crisp black levels that enthusiast want. The picture is quite decent, but if you are stickler for image quality, you may want to pass on this model. The price is very competitive compared to other models with the same features.
It will be up to the consumer to see whether the picture quality lives up to their standards. If you have more money in your budget for a plasma TV, this consumer will jump to the Pioneer or Panasonic.
